A short update from our Blue Bay Residences project: as you can see in the images, they are currently working on the roof constructions of the six residential blocks. In total there will be six penthouses and 18 apartments. The houses are built to optimize the wind flow in the condominium, which significantly adds to a pleasurable living environment.
During the next weeks we will work on the design for the gardens and the rest of the landscape together with Pieter van Loon. In one of the photos you can already see the excavation of the shared swimming pool in progress.
We wanted to make sure that the materials also create a good environment for the new residents. That is why we chose for materials that are less maintenance-sensitive. As Caribbean architects we wanted to use local products as well. So we reused the stones that emerged during the excavation works. The local stone that we used has a warm beige tone. The stone, the wood, the sand-colored walls, the dark bronze accents of the window frames and the warm red-brown roof tiles together form a harmonious whole.
