The renovation of the monumental building at Kortijnweg in Willemstad is almost completed! The paving work has now been completed and a fence, which we designed, has been installed.
Our design focused on restoring the original architectural elements of the house. Over the years, various extensions were added, such as an apartment at the back. These additions, which were not of high architectural quality, have been removed in the renovation to return the house to its original design. We wanted to restore the heritage. But also needed to add some new elements, like replacing windows and doors needed replacing because they were in poor condition. The new windows and doors are however replicas of the old ones, including the green glass window panes, ensuring the authenticity of the design is maintained.
Art Deco
Important addition
What makes this renovation particularly special is the custom-designed fencing. This fencing perfectly complements the Art Deco style of the house and adds to both the aesthetics and the protection of the building. The design has been carefully tailored to maintain the historic appearance while providing the necessary security and privacy.
Next up
The building is nearly ready for delivery, with the renovation expected to be fully completed by 2025. The residents will finish the garden themselves, leaving their personal touch on the project.
