“20 years ago I had to design a housing complex completely constructed in timber. There was still a lot of suspicion about building with timber. Was it good enough? What about sound insulation? Will the material last a long time? Now it seems it is the only good solution for construction. I’m a bit skeptical about that… Don’t join the bashing and canceling of steel and concrete but analyze which materials you need to build sustainably and quickly. For example, think of steel structures that we can reuse.” That is what Lyongo writes in his article for the latest edition of Beton en Staalbouw.
