Villa van de Sande is a private property with a view over the ocean. The design for the new villa is an example of modern Caribbean architecture. The villa has a beautiful location in the modern and chic neighborhood Sabadeco Crown Terrace. It is one of the villa’s that we designed on Bonaire.

Close contact

The house was designed in close collaboration with the owner, who is an urban planner by profession. His requirements were clearly stated. In an intensive design exercise we were able to translate his requirements in a well balanced design. The design is looks light and calm due to the chosen materials.

Elevated

The villa is located on a hillside. What stands out of this site is the view. To be able to capture the view we have designed the house on an elevated grid (4200x4200mm) of columns. By elevating the house the beautiful view of the Caribbean ocean can be enjoyed from the main terrace.

Inside and outside interchange with each other to create a playful whole in which the design grit is hardly recognized.
